We offer evening classes for adults in French, German, Italian, Spanish and Russian at various levels from beginner to advanced.
Students should expect to contribute and actively participate in lessons which are delivered by our team of enthusiastic tutors, many of whom are native speakers. None of the languages is examined; however some of the teachers may require students to purchase a textbook. Please do not purchase any books prior to your class commencing.
The learning environment is relaxed and informal in pleasant surroundings. Classrooms are well equipped and parking is usually available on site.
Each course runs for a school year and prepares students for the next level the following September.
The Autumn term begins week commencing Monday 21 September 2020 and ends Saturday 12 December 2020 There are no evening classes during the school's half-term holiday (Monday 26 October to Sunday 1 November 2020). There will be no German classes week beginning 19 October 2020.

School is constantly reviewing any coronavirus guidance that affects arrangements for our classes and we are working with our tutors to decide the most appropriate way forward for each class.
If it possible to host courses safely at school then we hope to do that, otherwise courses will be delivered online, as real time interactive classes via Zoom with your tutor and fellow students. The unexpected transfer from classroom lessons to online lessons at the end of March was very successful with both tutors and students adapting to the new environment very quickly. Classes have continued throughout lockdown so our tutors are now very experienced in delivering classes this way. For lessons via Zoom, students will need an internet connection and a PC, tablet or smart phone with speakers, a microphone and, ideally, a camera.
Enrolment opens on Tuesday 1 September and courses will be confirmed by Friday 18 September. In the meantime, if you would like to reserve a place, please complete our reservation form. You will be notified of the final arrangements for your class together with payment information on 1 September.
We reserve the right to cancel any course where there are not sufficient students enrolled for it to be viable.
