BWS Adventure

BWS aims to provide a wide range of challenging, adventurous activities in order to foster a strong sense of independence and resilience in every student.

Our programme is designed to challenge the boys mentally, physically and help them transfer the emotional strength gained from these experiences to everyday life. We aim to provide the pathways whereby each BWS student can become a self-sufficient and driven young adult who feels at home within adventure based environments.

We firmly believe in encouraging an awareness, responsibility and affinity for the Outdoors both at home and abroad.

Rationale

Larger numbers, short and meaningful experiences as an introduction to adventure and outdoor activities.

Guided and supported with low chance of misadventure.

Reduced numbers, varied levels of challenge/environment to suit the individual and an opportunity to work longer at developing specific skills.

Higher chance of misadventure and focus on developing resilience

Small numbers, high student-staff ratio, opportunity to develop expertise and independence within chosen adventure.

High chance of misadventure and necessity for resilience alongside both self-sufficiency and peer support skills.
